Here’s an article that’s definitely worth reading. Farhad Manjoo argues in Slate magazine that local bookstores shouldn’t even be supported anymore, and that in fact Amazon is better for authors. He says bookstores are “mythologized” and essentially, a thing of the past.
Do you agree?
I’ve worked in two bookstores in my lifetime. I vehemently disagree. I hope to post more thoughts on this in the future.
