A good friend of mine recently emailed me this article: “The Three R’s of Narrative Nonfiction” by Lee Gutkind. It’s part of a series of articles on the NY Times opinion pages called “DRAFT.” Here’s the series description:
Draft features essays by grammarians, historians, linguists, journalists, novelists and others on the art of writing — from the comma to the tweet to the novel — and why a well-crafted sentence matters more than ever in the digital age.
What I’ve read of the series so far is really great. They’ve got a lot of notable writers and thinkers writing on writing. (What could be better!) I just thought I’d pass these on to you all so you could enjoy them too.
